Hi There!

I'm Melanie and if you answered yes to any of the questions above, you are not alone. I have had a complicated relationship with food, exercise, and stress!

I would eat for every emotion I had! Didn't matter if it was happy emotion or a sad emotion. I would eat to numb what I was feeling and as a way to procrastinate both personally and professionally.

Exercise? I used it as a form of punishment or as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted. This lead to a lot of guilt, shame, and overwhelm.

Stress and over scheduling was the norm. I was too busy and stressed out all the time. At one point I just thought it was normal to feel burned out all the time!

I knew I deserved better and you do too.

After searching for years for the "perfect program" and spending way too much money on quick fixes, I was lead to holistic health.

I couldn't get enough information and became a Health and Wellness Coach through the International Association of Wellness Professionals. I loved it so much I continued and now hold a Master's Of Health Coaching. I then became a Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Counselor AND Practitioner.

I understand the desire to have holistic options partnered with traditional medicines and care. Together we will take a balance approach to your nutrition and lifestyle needs.

Session 1: The Joy of Being Wrong

The first part of the program is focused on courageous unlearning. The eating habits you have formed, didn't happen overnight and it is going to take some time to let these habits go. During our first session together, we are going to identify:

What Season Are You In?

(Have you noticed that your summer schedule looks different than it might during the winter holidays?)

What Do you Want to Accomplish?

(Let's get clear on what you really want and how you want to feel.)

What Thoughts Are Holding You Back?

(Unlearning is tough. We will do it together.)

We will use this information to help you create three goals and be super clear on what success will look like and feel like once these goals are met.

You will have a Clarity Goal Setting Worksheet as well as embrace getting curious as we continue to make connections between what you are eating and how you are feeling with a Food/Mood/Gut Health Journal.

Session 2: Unlearning Diets and Hunger While Embracing Gentle Nutrition

During this session we will look at your Food/Mood/Gut Health Journal and learn more about what your body is telling you. We will continue to stay curious as we unlearn thoughts and beliefs that you may have and be open and willing to try new things.

We will look at eating patterns as well as identify emotions.

You will leave this session with an Emotional Awareness Toolbox and Unlearning Action Plan.

Session 3: Unlearning Movement and Finding Your Pace

This session is all about finding your natural movement and making sure you are exercising for the right reasons. No more punishing yourself for having a slice of birthday cake or working yourself to death so you can go out to eat.

We will look at creating Good, Better, Best goals so movement fits easily into your busy lifestyle.

Session 4: Unlearning Stress Response and Reframe Your Boundaries

Time to dig into Managing Stress, Anxiety, and Emotional Trigger Without Food

At this point in the course you have learned to identify what your body is needing from you and using your intuition to guide you. You have been practicing this with both nutrition and movement. Now it's time to have a courageous reframe around what is causing you stress and how you are spending your time.

Session 5: The Joy of Listening To Your Body

What is your body trying to tell you?

Are you listening to your body?

Now is the time to start having a relationship with your body that is based on compassion, respect, and love.

Session 6: The Joy of Listening To Your Mind

Your emotional health is just as important as your physical health. Let's take intentional time to see what emotions are coming up and how you are processing them. Using a Feeling Wheel we will explore what you are feeling, why you are feeling this way, and how you want to feel,

We will also talk about ways to increase your energy by 1 degree and how to stop your brain from feeling like a computer with a million tabs open.

Session 7: The Joy of Listening To Your Soul

In the last session we talked about how to increase your energy. Now we are going to explore what kills your energy. We will work through a Core Values worksheet so you can better understand how you want to show up both personally and professionally. We will revisit what success means to you at this point in your journey and set you up with support and accountability.

Session 8: The Joy of Belonging

In our final session together we will revisit our goals from the beginning of the program and explore how you want to move forward in living a life you love. Community is important and we want to make sure you continue to feel valued and supported. Here you will learn about The Joy In the Journey Community and ways to check in with your body, mind, and soul as your seasons of life continue to change. Don't worry! We can be with you every step of the way.
