Now is the moment
The moment is now
Your mind will ask how
It will want to reel and spin
It will want to escape this moment somehow
But escape you must not
Don’t give in to the game
Any attempt will be in vain
The escape routes will feel tempting
They’re familiar for sure
No matter what form
They’ll leave you wanting more
Drop out of the head
Stay away from the past
Avoid the future
This feeling won’t last
It’s energy in motion
Moving through the vastness of you
There’s a place inside waiting to be noticed
And notice you must
Don’t contract, don’t put up a fight
Instead, get still and ground
Even if you are moving or way up high
Then expand with all of your might
Throw the edges of you
In all directions
Ignore the bells and whistles of fright
Unless a tiger is chasing you
Then run, fawn, freeze or put up a fight
Your nervous system will decide which to pick
It’s not even up to you when you’re in the thick
But most of the tigers aren’t real
They’ve gone or may never happen
These are the fearful, angry, hopeless tigers we need to stop
By revealing and feeling
The feelings may be scary but you’re bigger than that
You’re built to feel, to know the real
You’ve just forgotten this fact
Your body alarms don’t mean to scare you
They’re doing their job
But they’re blind to fiction and fact
Past, present, and future
Are a mystery to them
They know nothing of thought and imagination
If it is focused on it is acted on as if it were true
If you’re in real danger your system will act
There’s no doubt about that
It’s the false alarms that throw you off course
These are the ones you want to catch
So first, check for tigers
And when there’s none to be found
Right here, right now
Stop and look around
Use your five senses to bring you back
To this moment
Come out of the dark alleys of the past
And the heart-thudding films of the future
Drop out of the habitual BS thinking loops
And drop into the REAL you
That’s your support
It won’t let you down
It will keep you on track
There will be no looking back
When you can be with this moment
Just as it is
There will be no feeling too big or too small
That you’ll need to escape
You’ll be at peace with your inner landscape
